The Compendium of Curiosities Challenge -- Water Stamping

Linda, is hosting a weekly challenge, from the techniques from Tim Holtz book "the Compendium of Curiosities".  This is the first week and the challenge was to create a project using the "Water Stamping" technique.

I created this Tag. . .

First I inked the tag with Dusty Concord, then with Aged Mahogany, and then completed covered the tag with Faded Jeans.  I stamped the Clock image using the water stamping technique.  I then covered the tag with Distress Clear Rock Candy Paint.  From the dictionary I tore out the definition of night time aged with with Old Paper distress ink and stickles.

  1. Jason, this turned out great! I love the "nighttime" theme with the deep, rich colors, the dreamy clock and the starry, sparkly Stickles. It's gorgeous, and I'm so happy you're doing the Compendium Challenge!

  5. This is very cool! I love how you used dark colors, instead of bright ones. It makes me want to experiment with using black soot.

  6. Ooooh, love this. I'm doing mine tomorrow, my day off and I'm going to do all tags, then make a book out of them when we're done. You have inspired me! I love the choice of colors and stamp.

  7. Absolutely brillant layering the inks before water stamping. It created such a multi-layered, effect. And the deep, rich colors were an excellent choice.
