Just want to let you all know that I did win the challenge at Fenchkissed.  Waiting on my proze to arrive in the mail.  Thank you all that voted.

This weekend I have started working on the Pages for the  Altered Vintage Photo Swap I am hosting.  I have come up with two great concepts, and I am preparing the and printing the pieces for cutting, and then I ask myself why do I also have to cut things for my papers.  But I would have to say that is the joy of crafting.

Teaser photos coming soon!

Have a great weekend and make sure you make a mess with your scrapping/stamping today.

A Call for your VOTES and Two Tags from my Totally Tim Class

Wow what a weekend I had and the start of a great week, So I attended the Totally Tim Class on Sunday at Scrapbook 911, I love that class we created two Tags using Fragments. Jennie and Carrie are GREAT teachers.  Jennie tried to one up me with her Bird Cage Die tag, and I have to admit I think I like hers better then mine. . .But the challenge is on for future tags. . . OK back to the tags we created

Carrie taught this tag I like the effect of Rock Candy Distress Stickles and Rock Candy Crackle Paint , bigger and thicker cracks.  and yes stamped the image on the tag and then also on a Fragment. Then glossy accented it on the tag.  Very Cool!

Jennie(the one upper) taught this Tag, where we stamped the image I use Moulin Rouge, and then stamped on Fragments, and glossy accented them in place.  Fun but need to have a steady hand with the smaller fragments.

Ok on to other news one of the blogs I am following Frenchedkissed, where you can get some great French Vintage Postcards, held a contest, and I entered.  The winner will be determined by visitng the blog and you cast your vote. The Prize some great French Emphera, a scrapper can never have too much and some French Postage Stamps.  So I entered below is my entry.  The contest was to take a Vintage French Postcard that Trisha from FrenchKissed provide and create some art.  Here is my submission.  Also Below the pics is a link that will take you to Frenchkissed where you can Vote.   Please vote for mine.  The other entries are great. . . But I want to win!

Altering the Bird Cage

So I had a bird cage that I cut for a sample and decided that I wanted to see what I could do in terms of altering the bird cage.  So I came up with this Tag.  The Tag itself is a little dark but the scraps I had laying on my table, are what I used and piecing them together created this. . .

Tag created using Tim Holtz Bird Cage Die

Here is a  Tag that I made using Tim's Bird Cage die--cut with my Cuttlebug
ok the photo does not do this tag justice~

I used the Bird Cage die. I used Tim's Rusted Grunge technique, stamped the skeleton on Grunge paper and Rock Candied it.   The Background is a mixture of Vintage Photo, Frayed Burlap, Weathered Wood, and Walnut Crystals. I love how it looks let me know your thoughts.

Happy Easter & New Tag! Simon Says Stamp Challenge

First Happy Easter! My day was great made a nice helping of Migas, and of course I make it into a taco, which is kind of funny as it has tortillas in it, but I think it is easier to eat that way.

And Today was a me in the studio day and I want to say that I have finished my tags for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge ( I LOVE THAT SITE) and for Pam's Collaborative Chaos Swap,I used the Tim's Rusted Enamel Technique, using the base color of Mustard Seed and then using Wild Honey and Vintage Photo.
Hope ya'll hade a great day and Easter.

Cuttlebug Color Challenge

So being the proud owner of the little green powerful machine--the Cuttlebug, I found a blog, the cuttlebug spot, and they are holding a contest using the colors of pink & green.  I decided that I would give it a shot.

I used two embossing folders (Textile & Script) I inked over the embossing with Tim Holtz Vintage photo Distress Ink.  I then used the Cuttlebug to cut the flowers from the alphabet set (BabyFace), which I then turned into my favorite GrungePaper Roses, which were inked with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick and stamped with a French Script stamp, also Time Holtz.  For the rose leaves I also used the Flower Die from (Babyface) and cut it out of organza ribbon and heated the petals to melt them, and stitched them together--Thank you Lisa for showing me how to do it that technique.

And with that being said here is my submission.

Let me know what you think

Tim Holtz's new distress ink color swatches

So I finally finished my color swatches for the new DI, I used my blending tool to color the tage, ran the tag through my new cuttlebug, and then inked from the pad the raised image, then I stamped a script stamp onto the flower, printed the name of the color on vellum and attached it to dictionary pages.

I really like how they turned out.
