Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - by Jason

so on December 1st, Tim Holtz started his 12 Tags of Christmas, last year I followed along religiously and completed them each day that he posted them. . . this year I have fallen behind and have not started, but I did today.  Last year I created mini versions of Tim's Tags. . . so of course I had to do something different this year and then it hit me. . . So with that being said I would like to present to you my version of Tag 4

My theme this year is the Wizard of Oz.  I will incorporate the techniques that Tim is doing on his tag, and create my 12 Tags of Oz. . . I so hope I can pull this off.  I have my mission.

And for those of you who do not know Tim Holtz you can check out his Tags at http://www.timholtz.com/
and with Tim's permission here is his Day 4 Tag

Christmas is in the air

I wanted to share with you all some projects that I have been working on.  I completed my Page for Stephen's Christmas page swap

And my Black Friday purchase was an electric fire place.  So I had to create something to decorate the mantel.  I really like how the pennants look, so I decided to give it a try.

I love using Tim's Rosette Die, and on the A tag I used  the tissue tape flower technique.  Now that these projects are done I can start to play on Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas.

Happy Crafting!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Reflecting back over this year, there is a lot that I am thankful for; my relocating back to Aberdeen, my new job, and being able to be close to family again.  I am so thankful and have learned that things happen for a reason.  So with that being said Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Tim Holtz' visits Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD

Ok well Tim himself did not visit but his inks did, how many of you are able to take your hobby to work with you.  I was able to do just that today and it was awesome.  At Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD where I am the Director of Human Resources, and love it, we held today a special party for the Sisters of the Presentation.  The day is called Presentation Day which is celebrated November 21st.  It is a day that honors the presentation of God to Mary.

Ok so with this party in honor of the sisters for their contributions to and the starting of the college, we hold this party.  In the years prior to my arrival table tents/centerpieces were the following:

Not too bad it shares the information and the story and purpose for the celebration.  So when I saw what they have done in the past I decided that I could do something even better.  So I came up with this:

The verbiage is the same, I added the lantern and inked around the edges (with Vintage Photo) of the table tent, I looked at it and decided that was not enough so I cut out a lantern attached it to the LED Tea light candle cut a hole in the bottom of the tent and inserted the lantern giving it a 3D effect.  The Sisters and the faculty and staff Loved this and asked me where I got the verbiage, I replied it is the same verbiage that was from the past years, they responded oh we did not notice.

So it was a great day at work where I was able to showcase my talents, and hear the compliments of the Sisters and Employees where I work.  Oh and did I mention that I love where I work. . .

CCC Chellenge number I forget where we are

So I started to set up my scrapbook room, and was going through some of the many tags that I created, remembering the good times at Scrapbook 911 in San Antonio.  When I cam across this tag that matches with these weeks challenge.  I really love this tag.
